Coffee Work Shop Shanty

Founded in 1968. It is a coffee shop that continues to be loved in the town of Senju. When you open the entrance door, you can feel the history of the wooden floor and table seats, and the letters on the coffee cans that make you feel the age. The owner and his wife greet you with a gentle smile behind the counter.

“The more powder you use and the less time it is in contact with hot water, the better the coffee will be,” says Miyamoto, the owner of the shop. Using beans that he roasts himself and brewing it with a siphon, it is truly a master craftsmanship to complete a reddish amber coffee in a blink of an eye. The fragrant, sour and sweet blended coffee is refreshing and delicious, and the homemade cake that goes well with coffee is a welcome treat. Many of the customers are young, and there are people who slowly enjoy their coffee while flipping through paperback books.

Please enjoy the time at the coffee shop that has not changed since the Showa era.

SLOW JET COFFEE

About 10 minutes on foot from Kita-Senju Station. A modern café located in a renovated garage on Bokutei-dori.

There are two types of coffee extraction: "slow coffee", which uses beans roasted in the shop and drips carefully one cup at a time, and "jet coffee", which is extracted at high speed with an espresso machine. Taking into account the condition of the coffee beans and the weather that day, the brewing time is changed, and the machine is fine-tuned by the staff who are all baristas.

Early in the morning, drink up an espresso and go to work. In the early afternoon, enjoy plenty of drip coffee and arranged coffee slowly. Select your favorite coffee according to the situation and mood at that time, and spread out your computer for remote work, and enjoy conversation. It is a third place in Senju where you can spend a rich time as you like.

CAFE KovaGarden

A pottery shop that lasted 50 years in Senju was renovated into a coffee shop about 30 years ago. The shop with plastered walls and wooden doors, which is reminiscent of European building, was built by a local plasterer and carpenter who were told the shop image of European style. The wooden tables and comfortable chairs are made to order. You can feel the thoughtfulness to spend quality time here and there.

The coffee is hand-dripped with an original blend roasted over Binchotan charcoal. Every time an order is placed, the beans are ground, and plenty of powder is used to maximize the richness and aroma unique to charcoal roasting, and served in a special cup. Homemade sweets are prepared to accompany the coffee. Sweets can be selected from scones and chiffon cakes lined up in a glass showcase. The black tea selected by the shop manager, who is also a tea instructor, and the flower-shaped special grilled sandwiches are also popular.
