Teikyo University of Science
Ghost chimney monument
The four chimneys of the "Senju Thermal Power Station" that used to be in Senju were once called "ghost chimneys".
Since the four chimneys were arranged in a thin rhombus, the number of chimneys changed depending on the viewing angle, which is the origin of the name.
A part of the dismantled ghost chimney material is currently placed as a monument on the Senju Campus of Teikyo University of Science.

From 2009 to 2015, Adachi City launched a project "Furusato Sakura (Heisei Goshikizakura) Owner System" to collect donations for planting cherry trees, in order to revive "Arakawa's Goshikizakura", which was once one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in Tokyo. 458 cherry trees owned by the residents have been planted in the section of about 4.4km (from Shikahama Bridge to Nishiarai Bridge) on the left bank of the Arakawa River.

Homecoming Sakura: It means Arakawa Goshiki-zakura sent to Washington in 1912. The original cherry trees have withered after the embankment construction or by pollution. So the branches of the original tree from Washington were gathered and planted again in the park as Homecoming Sakura.
