Belmont was established in 1898 as the Road Management Committee, became Belmont County in 1961, and became Belmont City in 1979. The city is divided into three major blocks of residential areas, industrial commercial areas, and airports, and the northeastern Perth airport is the gateway to Western Australia's sky. Faulkner Park in the center of the city has facilities such as city hall, library, museum. The city of Belmont is the birthplace of Western Australian horse racing and is one of the major industries.
